P.J. Morgan
Owner
P.J. Morgan has been a leader in the City of Omaha for over 30 years. He has proven himself a successful businessman, an accomplished elected official, and a concerned community fundraiser and volunteer.
In 1967, P.J. Morgan founded the P.J. Morgan Company and developed it into one of the largest real estate firms in Nebraska, with over $200 million (1970’s value) worth of real estate management, sales, and a workforce of over 100 people.
While building his real estate company, P.J. also began his political career with his election to the Nebraska State Senate in 1970, followed by his elected as a Douglas County Commissioner in 1973. He was selected ‘Outstanding Young Omahan’ in 1973 and ‘Outstanding Young Nebraskan’ in 1974 by the Jay Cee’s organization.
In the 1980’s, P.J. served on the Board of Governors for the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and was involved in the merger of Clarkson Hospital and UNMC. He was also appointed to the Omaha Airport Authority, where he served as Chairperson for five years. During that tenure, he presided over the most complete airport renovation and expansion program in Eppley Airfield’s history.
P.J. Morgan ran for Mayor of Omaha and was elected in 1989. As Mayor, he implemented a business-like approach to governing. The P.J. Morgan administration was responsible for developing more affordable housing than in Omaha history at the time. Mayor Morgan also served as an active ambassador for the city, protecting and expanding existing jobs and promoting economic development in Omaha to a national level. In a landslide victory, P.J. was re-elected in 1993 to a second term as Omaha’s Mayor.
P.J. went on to become President, CEO, and Vice Chairman at Nebraska-based Duncan Aviation, one of the world’s largest privately-owned aircraft maintenance and restoration organizations with more than 800 employees around the world.
In 1996, P.J. returned to his first passion, managing his own properties and re-establishing P.J. Morgan Real Estate. A tireless example of community leadership, P.J.’s past civic service includes Division Chairman for United Way’s annual fund drive and serving on United Way’s governing board. He has also served as Education Chairperson for the Nebraska American Cancer Society, President of the Young Presidents Organization, and President of the Independent Free Appraisers; and as a Board Member of the Salvation Army, Omaha Chamber of Commerce, and Omaha Airport Authority.
P.J. was elected as Douglas County Commissioner for District 6 in 2010. In 2017, he was inducted into the Omaha Business Hall of Fame.
In 2019, P.J. sold his namesake company – P.J. Morgan Real Estate – to its employees. He now owns TCB Real Estate, focusing on real estate management and business consulting services.
